“Let us consider our beginnings, duties and future”

I’ve always been fascinated with the simplicity, the elegance of our founding fathers, their writings and approach to conveying the simple messages of freedom and rights.But how long has it been since we considered their words, the meanings and intentions and viewed them in the light of today’s obscurity and abuse?

Their own words repeatedly convey their recognition of a higher power and our rights as bestowed by God and our rights as citizens of a new and independent and free society. With that in mind I bring out the Preamble to, and our Declaration of Independence from Britain. These words could have been written as warning in the last few weeks and months.

1.     “When in the course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.”

When in the course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another…” – we did in fact find it necessary to take extraordinary measures to step away from England, even to use the force of war to prove that we had enough of their tyranny and were in deed desirous of living free and without the encumbrances of unreasonable taxes and control.

…and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them…” – Our founders knew that Nature (notice the capitalization) and Natures’ God should be the guiding, ruling force in our lives and not man who exercised controls for personal gain and ignoring the good of the governed. And proclaiming the fact that we are entitled to these rights and “…they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.” – It’s our duty to remove ourselves from these corrupt powers.

2.1 “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.”

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal…” – that the true condition of the human spirit as they saw it was plain and clear and without question. That all men, regular citizens and the elected, are equal and there is no oppressive higher power to rule over the citizens of our country.

…that they are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.” – Again recognizing that our rights and freedoms come from a higher power – our Creator, God – and that no man should have the rights to take them away and we should enjoy our lives, our liberties and the right to true personal happiness.

2.2 “That to secure these rights, governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed. That whenever any form of government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or abolish it, and to institute new government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to affect their safety and happiness.”

That to secure these rights, governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed.” – A simple yet most powerful concept that the elected get their power from us. Not from their own ideology, not their own wishes for power or for their own personal gain or from a supporting political, religious, or economic group…but from the people at large.

That whenever any form of government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or abolish it, and to institute new government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to affect their safety and happiness.” – This tells us, reminds us, compells us, to watch over the elected, to exercise our own right and duty to make changes and not be blindly controlled or destroyed. It’s our right to defend and maintain our own “safety and happiness.”

2.4 But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such government, and to provide new guards for their future security.

It lays out what to look for, what to find unacceptable and what to be aware of, and I would simply ask – “have we not seen this very abuse and usurping of our governing principles?” 

Do we not see a president who wanders through his duties with his own view, his own desires directing his actions, his own goals for the destruction of our country – enacting his own laws without regard for our process, without consulting the lawmakers whose duty it is to guide us? Do we not see his constant ignorance of existing laws in favor of his own social agenda? Do we not see a complicit political influence which acts as accomplice to his illegal and socialistic actions? Do these very actions show that contrary to section 2.1 above that he feels some are NOT created equal but are better than others, more deserving, have more and different rights?

With these actions occurring, when will we head the demands of our founders to react knowing “…it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such government, and to provide new guards for their future security.

As our founders wrote so many years ago –
“The history of the present King of Great Britain is a history of repeated injuries and usurpations, all having in direct object the establishment of an absolute tyranny over these States. To prove this, let facts be submitted to a candid world.”
“He has refused his Assent to Laws, the most wholesome and necessary for the public good.”
“He has forbidden his Governors to pass Laws of immediate and pressing importance, unless suspended in their operation till his Assent should be obtained; and when so suspended, he has utterly neglected to attend to them.”
“He has refused to pass other Laws for the accommodation of large districts of people, unless those people would relinquish the right of Representation in the Legislature, a right inestimable to them and formidable to tyrants only.”

PLEASE reread that last again – “He has refused to pass other Laws for the accommodation of large districts of people… formidable to tyrants only.”

In our current president’s actions through immigration, the Healthcare Act, the EPA, Dept. of Justice and others, has he not abused every warning the founders laid out, taken away the rights and responsibilities of the states and demeaned our existence?

Again in the words of our Preamble regarding the King of England…
“He has dissolved Representative Houses repeatedly, for opposing with manly firmness his invasions on the rights of the people.”
“He has refused for a long time, to cause others to be elected; whereby the Legislative powers, incapable of Annihilation, have returned to the People at large for their exercise; the State remaining in the mean-time exposed to all the dangers of invasion from without, and convulsions within.”
“He has endeavoured to prevent the population of these States; for that purpose obstructing the Laws for Naturalization of Foreigners; refusing to pass others to encourage their migrations hither, and raising the conditions of new Appropriations of Lands.”
“He has obstructed the Administration of Justice, by refusing his Assent to Laws for establishing Judiciary powers.”
“He has made Judges dependent on his Will alone, for the tenure of their offices, and the amount and payment of their salaries.”
“He has erected a multitude of New Offices, and sent hither swarms of Officers to harrass our people, and eat out their substance.”
“He has kept among us, in times of peace, Standing Armies without the Consent of our legislatures.”
“He has affected to render the Military independent of and superior to the Civil power.”
“He has combined with others to subject us to a jurisdiction foreign to our constitution, and unacknowledged by our laws; giving his Assent to their Acts of pretended Legislation”
“For imposing Taxes on us without our Consent.” (Obama’s ACA)
“For depriving us in many cases, of the benefits of Trial by Jury” (Obama’s NDAA)
“For taking away our Charters, abolishing our most valuable Laws, and altering fundamentally the Forms of our Governments.” (Obama’s alliance with the UN and relinquishing our rights)
“He has plundered our seas, ravaged our Coasts, burnt our towns, and destroyed the lives of our people.” (Obama’s denial of our oil rights while allowing foreign entities to enjoy our bounties, allowed farmers to go without water to exist on their own lands, and denied the rights of free existence.)

And in the conclusion of our Declaration, “In every stage of these Oppressions we have Petitioned for Redress in the most humble terms: Our repeated Petitions have been answered only by repeated injury. A Prince whose character is thus marked by every act which may define a Tyrant, is unfit to be the ruler of a free people.”

Have we not been abused, ignored, and punished in many ways for our civil disagreement with this regime’s actions? Is he not demonstrating the traits of a tyrant and thereby is unfit to govern us?

I would remind that these are not my words. Nor the words of some 21st century disgruntled citizen convicted of crimes and lashing out at authority for undeserved abuses. Not the rants of someone bent on fighting at the gates of the White House to kill and destroy –yet these are the words, the WARNINGS, of intelligent freedom loving men from 250 plus years ago who were tired of the rule of tyrants and oppressors.

When will it be necessary for us to finally make the decision to take up resistance and fight for what is ours – rightfully ours – and not be controlled or further destroyed at the hands of Socialistic influences?
