Liberal’s New Weapon: The Recall Vote

Liberal’s New Weapon: The Recall Vote
Al Ritter

At one time our society used the recall vote to remove someone from office for social indiscretion, theft or some other moral cause. Now the democrats are using recall to remove Republicans from office for anything they don’t like.

Such is the cause for State Senator Russell Pearce. Who is Russell Pearce and why should you care? Senator Pearce wrote the most powerful bill in America at the time to allow his home state to enforce something that the Federal Government refuses to do.

The liberals flooded his small district with out of state money to form an alliance to have this politician removed. They succeeded in his recall vote, he is now gone. They now have a new target, one of his best friends, Sheriff Joe Arpaio. Their declared intention is to have the “trouble maker” removed. The same big money will be behind them as they attempt to remove every Republican they don’t like in high visibility areas such as Arizona.

It surely isn’t the first time liberals are misusing a law to their benefit!

For those of you who don’t know who Russell Pearce is………..he wrote the bill SB 1070 in Arizona allowing local Police Departments to ask about their illegal status…………now you know the rest of the story!

It may just be me but it seems that odd year special elections (05, 07, 09,11) all seem to favor liberal candidates and liberal causes. I have a theory on why this seems to be: many companies encourage their employees to vote during their state primaries and general elections. Many give a 1 hour exemption for their employees. However, odd year special elections are not emphasized. perhaps odd year elections favor those liberal candidates and causes because there are far more conservatives that actually have jobs than liberals who seem to have more time on their hands and can go vote without having to squeeze it into their lunch hour or fight the 5:00 PM traffic to get to the polling center.

Lets take Jackson County Missouri for instance. Last week there was a special election concerning raising the sales tax to help support the zoo. The KC Zoo already gets money from sales tax but now they want another 1/8 of a percent increase. There are over 670,000 people living in Jackson County and less than 42,000 voted on this issue. The tax increase passed by almost a 4 to 1 ratio. The reason for the massive difference in the vote, more zoo sponsored field trips for inner city students and more free tickets will be made available for those living at or below the poverty line. The KC school district has failed to maintain minimum standards for several consecutive years, the state may take the district over and sure, lets give the kids another day out of class. As for the those free tickets......most of those people will never go to the zoo anyway but it was enough to get them to basically vote themseves another handout. I'll get off my soapbox now.
