Obama:Did I Really Say That?
Obama:Did I Really Say That?
Al Ritter
I decided to compile some of Barack Obama’s speeches. Some funny, some sad, some downright lies but what remains is proof of what the man stands for. We need to think long and hard about reelection of the man who stands in the way of progress in America to merely further his flawed ideological agenda. He wants to make America somehow smaller in the eyes of the world, to somehow IL legitimize our role in world affairs. Read on and you will see what I mean. These are his words, mine are in italics.
Whoops, I forgot I said that, orrrrrrrrr……..do as I say not as I do!
“We need to steer clear of this poverty of ambition, where people want to drive fancy cars and wear nice clothes and live in nice apartments but don't want to work hard to accomplish these things. Everyone should try to realize their full potential.”……Barack Obama, Daily Southtown, Feb. 19, 2005
This speech was in 2005 before he was elected President; in 2011 over half the American population is on some sort of public assistance.
“In a country of 300 million people, there is a certain degree of audacity required for anybody to say, "I'm the best person to lead this country."…….Barack Obama, Washington Post, Nov. 18, 2006
President Obama, then candidate Obama constantly confuses audacity for arrogance.
“When we send our young men and women into harm's way, we have a solemn obligation not to fudge the numbers or shade the truth about why they're going, to care for their families while they're gone, to tend to the soldiers upon their return, and to never ever go to war without enough troops to win the war, secure the peace, and earn the respect of the world”…..Barack Obama, speech at 2004 Democratic Convention
In 2009 the Generals on the ground in Afghanistan requested 40,000 troop surge. Obama denied that request and only offered 30,000.
“I cannot swallow whole the view of Lincoln as the Great Emancipator”…….Barack Obama, Time Magazine, Jun. 26, 2005
In late 2011 into 2012 Barack Obama likened himself to “the great Abraham Lincoln.”
“No one is pro-abortion.”…..Barack Obama, speech, Oct. 5, 2004
This one leaves me speechless as he once said he didn’t ever want an unwanted pregnancy to saddle either one of his daughters.
“I think the American people have a generous instinct. They understand that we're a nation of immigrants. But if those folks are going to live in this country, they have to be put on a pathway to citizenship that involves them paying a fine, making sure that they are at the back of the line and not cutting in front of people who applied legally to come into the country”……Barack Obama, Larry King Live, Oct. 19, 2006
By Executive Decree Obama has ordered hands off illegal aliens, stopped deportation, and sued every state that signed mirror laws of the federal mandate that already exists.
“The single biggest threat that we face is a nuclear weapon or some weapon of mass destruction. What that means is that we have to be extraordinarily aggressive and vigilant in controlling nuclear proliferation. We have a nuclear proliferation treaty and strategy that has failed. I think it failed in Iran. It also failed in North Korea”……Barack Obama, debate, Oct. 12, 2004
Unable to force North Korea and Iran to stop their nuclear weapons programs Obama still thinks sanctions will work.
“I do think that there is a big difference between family farms and agri-business, and one of the distressing things that I think has occurred is with consolidation of farm lands. You've seen large agri-businesses benefit from enormous profits from existing farm programs, and I think we should be focusing most of those programs on those family farmers.”……..Barack Obama, debate, Oct. 12, 2004
I think this would be a good idea to institute……three years after becoming president has it become law?
“I think that the Democratic Party and progressives generally have gotten confused in getting trapped in this debate about are you liberal or are you centrist? I'm not interested in being a centrist or rushing to the middle, in the sense of just splitting the difference with a radically ideological Bush administration. And that’s how I think we got into trouble in many instances, was we just kept on splitting the difference until you find out you don't stand for anything, you just keep on compromising”….Barack Obama, Tavis Smiley Show, Oct. 23, 2006
It seems then Senator Obama has empathy for how republicans feel now, why should we give up conservatism?
“It’s time to hold Washington to the same standards families and businesses hold themselves. It’s time to save what we can, spend what we must, and live within our means once again”…….Barack Obama Feb 2, 2010.
Such a short time ago, if he really believes this why doesn’t he do it?
“What I will not welcome, what I reject is the same old grandstanding when cameras are on, and the same irresponsible budget policies when the cameras are off”…..Barack Obama Feb 2, 2010
Barack Obama commenting on “grandstanding” how special
“That is the true genius of America, a faith in the simple dreams of its people, the insistence on small miracles. That we can say what we think, write what we think, without hearing a sudden knock on the door”. …..Barack Obama 2004 DNC convention
The Department of Justice under Eric Holder has seen fit to prosecute or not prosecute the people they see as violators of law based on political selection rather that constitutional mandate, thereby instituting the big brother idea.
“You can disagree with a certain policy without demonizing the person who espouses it”…..Barack Obama May 1, 2010 University of Michigan Speech
White House press secretary Jay Carney this morning characterized Newt Gingrich as a liar for his stance on lowering the price of gasoline.
“In reaffirming the greatness of our nation we understand that greatness is never a given. It must be earned. Our journey has never been one of short-cuts or settling for less. It has not been the path for the faint-hearted, for those that prefer leisure over work, or seek only the pleasures of riches and fame. Rather, it has been the risk-takers, the doers, the makers of things -- some celebrated, but more often men and women obscure in their labor -- who have carried us up the long rugged path towards prosperity and freedom”….Barack Obama Inaugural Address, Jan. 20. 2009
Greatness is never given it is earned….I have three words for this claim….Nobel Peace Prize.
“I don't want to pit Red America against Blue America. I want to be President of the United States of America”….Barack Obama, speech, Nov. 10, 2007
President Obama never speaks to America; he speaks to his allies in the DNC
“What Washington needs is adult supervision”…..Barack Obama, fundraising letter, Oct. 2006
Really?....no I mean REALLY?
“I always believe that ultimately, if people are paying attention, then we get good government and good leadership. And when we get lazy, as a democracy and civically start taking shortcuts, then it results in bad government and politics”……Barack Obama, MSNBC interview, Sep. 25, 2006
Well in a way he is right when he says in a democracy it can end in bad government, obviously nobody has ever told Barack Obama we don’t live in a democracy, we live in a REPUBLIC!
“When special interests put their thumb on the scale, and distort the free market, the people who compete by the rules come in last”….Barack Obama, speech, Aug. 2, 2008
Special interests….hmmmmm….wasn’t it Obama who said that no lobbyists would ever work in the Whitehouse? We see how that went didn’t we?
“But if we choose to actively seek out information that challenges our assumptions and our beliefs, perhaps we can begin to understand where the people who disagree with us are coming from.... The practice of listening to opposing views is essential for effective citizenship. It is essential for our democracy.”….Barack Obama, remarks at University of Michigan, May 1, 2010
We now know that opposing views to the Presidents’ can bring Eric Holder to quick action! You will also notice he still thinks we live in a democracy!
“That is why I have ordered the closing of the detention center at Guantanamo Bay, and will seek swift and certain justice for captured terrorists – because living our values doesn’t make us weaker, it makes us safer and it makes us stronger”…Barack Obama, Address to Joint Session of Congress, Feb. 24, 2009
Three years and Gitmo is still open, and not one combatant has been tried.
“With the magnitude of the challenges we face right now, what we need in Washington are not more political tactics -- we need more good ideas. We don't need more point-scoring -- we need more problem-solving.”….Barack Obama, press conference, Mar. 17, 2009
This defies a response.
“All of us share this world for but a brief moment in time. The question is whether we spend that time focused on what pushes us apart or whether we commit ourselves to an effort, a sustained effort to find common ground, to focus on the future we seek for our children and to respect the dignity of all human beings”….Barack Obama, speech, Jun. 4, 2009
Seeking “common ground” for President Obama has come to mean….”it’s my way or the highway.”
“The country is not as polarized as our politics would suggest”…..Barack Obama, interview, Oct. 27, 2006
It’s common knowledge that the parties have become far more polarized under Obama.
Ranting of social responsibility otherwise known as socialism
“You know, there's a lot of talk in this country about the federal deficit. But I think we should talk more about our empathy deficit - the ability to put ourselves in someone else's shoes; to see the world through the eyes of those who are different from us - the child who's hungry, the steelworker who's been laid-off, the family who lost the entire life they built together when the storm came to town. When you think like this - when you choose to broaden your ambit of concern and empathize with the plight of others, whether they are close friends or distant strangers - it becomes harder not to act; harder not to help”….Barack Obama, speech, Aug. 11, 2006
Empathy clearly trumps the ability to pay for it in the mind of Barack Obama
“Yes, our greatness as a nation has depended on individual initiative, on a belief in the free market. But it has also depended on our sense of mutual regard for each other, of mutual responsibility. The idea that everybody has a stake in the country, that we're all in it together and everybody's got a shot at opportunity. Americans know this. We know that government can't solve all our problems - and we don't want it to. But we also know that there are some things we can't do on our own. We know that there are some things we do better together.”…..Barack Obama, speech, Aug. 7, 2006
Government can’t solve all our problems?.......we would never know that by the policies mandated by the Obama Administration in just three years!
These are but a few of the statements by Barack Obama, some are hypocritical some are socialist, some are outright lies but the point is…..everyone will make you scratch your head. Is this what we really want for four more years?
Think about this for a minute……his first four years were mild compared to what the next four would be like. He has showed restraint in his first four years for the possibility of reelection, can you imagine what he will pass if he doesn’t have to worry about reelection. Think second amendment removal and cap and trade returning!

When you sum it up into the question of his capabilities in the
next four years when not faced with reelection in his future, it
is more than terrifying to me!! How many 'blind souls' loved Hitler?
My liberal friends seem to ignore all his lies and hypocrisies, I am emailing this article to them!
