More of the Same Swamp, Just Deeper

More of the Same Swamp, Just Deeper
Al Ritter

On January 18, 2021 40 National, State and Local groups sent an ominous warning to then President elect Joe Biden about the rising power Big Tech was amassing.

“As you prepare to take office, we urge you to avoid appointing to key antitrust enforcement positions individuals who have served as lawyers, lobbyists, or consultants for Amazon, Apple, Facebook, and Google,” the groups wrote through the American Economic Liberties Project. “Instead, we encourage you to appoint experienced litigators or public servants who have recognized the dangers of, rather than helped to exacerbate, these corporations’ market power.”

That warning was not only ignored by the Biden Administration, but actually used as a roadmap to do the exact opposite. It’s been reported that Renata Hesse who worked for Google during the Trump Administration is a top contender to head up the anti-trust division of the DOJ. Hesse played a major role in the Amazon/Whole Foods merger, and has also represented large Pharmaceutical Companies in the past.

Another questionable player is Juan Arteaga, a former Obama Administration DOJ official, who may be tapped to be assistant Attorney General for anti-trust division of the DOJ. He represented AT&T in its merger with Time Warner. He also defended JPMorgan and several other financial firms in fraud cases.

Both of the above mentioned individuals have represented clients against government prosecutors. I see it as highly unlikely that they will be effective at switching roles after past histories of lobbying so hard to have their clients continue in the roles major trust violators.

I suppose this is the pay back to Big Tech for their collective support of the liberal cause in the election. I don’t see much help from the DOJ to rein in their influence in the next 4 years.

First Amendment, Now an Endangered Species Too!

First Amendment, Now an Endangered Species Too!

Al Ritter

For the last decade Conservatives have known that their Second Amendment Rights have been under attack by the left under the guise of “state’s rights.” It has always been confusing to this writer how “state’s rights” ever came into play in the first place. It’s been common knowledge that whatever isn’t mentioned and addressed in the Constitution or in its Amendments becomes the responsibility of the states. Yet the second amendment is clearly mentioned and addressed ….

“A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”

But here we are allowing states to adopt their own laws and bans on particular guns.

As I mentioned in previous articles there is now an attack on the First Amendment triggered by the Jan 6th protest at the Capitol Building. New Channels have long since lost their unbiased base and present a definite slanted view from both sides of the spectrum. The big 3 ABC, NBC, CBS were the first ones to take a leftist stance in the late 90’s. Spin offs in the Cable Networks expanded that view. MSNBC, CNN, CNBC came online in the 2000’s and as a result Fox News came on the air in 2001 and quickly surpassed CNN as the top cable news outlet. Recently OANN, NEWSMAX have come online to support the Conservative view. Listeners were tired of News channels reporting the leftist view as the only one and were desperately search for other points of view. People on both sides understood that they could find like-minded reporting by picking their favorite “News” channel.

Well it seems that now two House Democrats want to change that too. Anna Eschoo and Jerry McNerney (both from California) have sent a letter to AT&T, Hulu, Amazon, Comcast, Roku, Google, and Apple, asking why they carried the three purported “news outlets” (Fox, OANN, and Newsmax) as being the spreaders of misinformation.

The same could be said about MSNBC, CNN, and CNBC, but the right has never seen fit to want an outright ban on them.

I suppose that times are changing, but I found it humorous that the FCC reacted quickly and forcefully by issuing this statement immediately.

News Is Now Over, Only One Opinion Remains

News Is Now Over, Only One Opinion Remains

Al Ritter

Remember how our parents told us, “There are two sides to every story?” Obviously this is no longer true in our new Cancel Culture society. We have now handed power to the Big Tech giants to make decisions on what type of opinion is acceptable and what is not.

Consider for a minute if you will, Jeff Bezos CEO of Amazon decided to remove the web site of Parler because in their view posts made on that site had not been properly moderated about actions that happened on Jan 6th. Later investigation showed that 27 objectionable posts had been made on Facebook, 13 posts on Twitter, and yet only 3 had been made on Parler. That didn’t matter to Bezos, he never admitted he was wrong, nor reactivated Parler’s account. He made them find another server after barely salvaging their customer’s information.

Consider for a minute Mark Zuckerberg’s latest actions. Australia has had enough of Zuckerberg and his mishandling of the privacy of its citizens by way of Facebook. In an issued threat Zuckerberg cautioned the Australian and New Zealand governments if they make him pay for published news he would ban all news articles from Facebook entirely in their country. Before the law had ever been signed into law Zuckerberg made a preemptive vindictive strike banning not only news but several government, health and emergency services pages on Facebook and Instagram. The EU, France and Canada are closely watching the outcome as they are considering similar laws.

Consider for a minute Zuckerberg’s desire to get involved in Political outcome in a foreign country. In Myanmar the military coup over the democratically elected government has now been affected by Facebook. Zuckerberg has decided to remove any all presence of the military on Facebook siting violation of their terms of service. The Military has now threated to remove Facebook entirely from their country thus removing 22 million subscribers on Facebook.

This so called Cancel Culture is being perpetrated by Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Google, and Amazon.

Every new day they seem to find something else to push their agenda. After 8 months of Zuckerberg peddling his opinion of Covid-19 using the adage of “stopping misinformation,” he has now found a new agenda to combat “misinformation.” His new attack is on Climate Change…and censoring anything that he sees as running contrary to his view of “settled science.”

Where else has a 36 year old wielded such power? Better question still is how did we let him obtain such power?

State of Maryland squandered $3 Billion and what do we have to show for it?

State of Maryland squandered $3 Billion and what do we have to show for it?

Al Ritter

As I reported back in 2008 in a previous article the Tobacco Industry entered into a settlement in 1998 with the state of Maryland to fund smoking cessation programs and also direct funding for relief to individuals because of tobacco related illnesses.

From 1998 to 2020 Maryland has received over $3 Billion from this settlement and while pocketing most all the money into the general slush fund has spent little to nothing on cessation programs (.03%)

I warned Marylanders then that the spending Democrats would get so used to this money that they would never rein back spending after the money disappeared. The settlement was only for 25 years and is due to expire in 2023.

Fast forward to Maryland’s new tax and spend bill SB 496 otherwise known as the Kirwan Bill. Gov. Hogan vetoed the bill but the legislature overturned his veto. House Dems disguised this bill as “Recovery for the Economy, Livelihoods, Industries, Entrepreneurs, and Families Relief Act.”

Here’s the kicker funding for this program will come from doubling cigarette taxes and flavored cigarettes and cigars. Although it will hardly make up the difference in lost income from the Tobacco Settlement of 1998 it’s a sure sign that the legislature is desperately looking for ways to make up the lost money! So where has the majority of the $3 billion gone Peter Franchot?

Imagine If You Will Cancel Culture Buys Towns:

Imagine If You Will, Cancel Culture Buys Towns:

Al Ritter

If Facebook, or Google, maybe Apple were to buy an enormous plot of ground say 70,000 acres and decided to create their own town. What would that town look like?

Most Cities start as Townships, transform to Municipalities, then to Cities. They normally start out by incorporating with the sole intent of creating a Township. Along with accepting that charter they assume the responsibilities of creating infrastructure, roads, courts, and Police Departments. This is how things are normally done.

Now let’s step into the Twilight zone for a minute.

Let’s now assume that an already Incorporated LLC (read that limited liability corporation) whose sole purpose was totally unrelated to the intent of forming a town. Starting to blur the lines of what is right and wrong aren’t we?

In Nevada the state legislature is looking into changing the law to allow a large Big Tech giant Blockchains LLC to turn a 67,000 acre plot into their own town, but here’s the kicker. Blockchains will control basically the whole town through a three member board of supervisors. Two of those supervisors will be named by Blockchains, the third appointment is unclear. Understand that there would be no elected officials of the town only appointed ones! Kind of undercuts the idea of Democracy doesn't it?

This will give the Big Tech Giant to make the rules, it is unclear whether the town would operate autonomously and have its own sovereignty or not. What is clear however is that Blockchains will have the authority to control all your identity information within its borders.

Is this the path our nation needs at this point? Handing over more power to Big Tech or removing it?

What Was Nancy’s part in Jan 6 Protest?

What Was Nancy’s part in Jan 6 Protest?

Al Ritter

Ok this has been bothering me for the past 4 weeks.

When viewing videos of the supposed break in of the Capitol building, we saw the police allowing the people in and in fact the crowd looked pretty orderly.

If you didn't know better, you would think they were on a tour of the Capitol Building right? NOW.....google who controls the Capitol Police Department.....one big hint...It's NOT the DC Mayor!

Congress controls the Capital Police!

Who is the head of the Congress? Someone needs to ask the question of the Commander of the Capitol Police Dept......(who has since resigned).......Who ordered the Police to stand down and allow the protesters into the building? #coup #nancyscoup Share if you have questions too!

It now seems that the Democrats have dropped the Impeachment farce after threats from the Republican defense team that they would expose Nancy Pelosi for what she really is and present over 100 witnesses that would totally embarrass the Democratic party!

Welcome Back Patriots!

Welcome back Patriots!

Al Ritter

As I said earlier, I had been locked out of my own blog for 4 years! Who knows what will happen to my blog now as Google has control over my account. As we found out this year the “Big Tech” now has control of our conservative speech.

Well, where do I start to fill the void of four years? I have to admit, I was a “never trumper” in the beginning. I’m sure you remember that I SURELY didn’t like the Obama/Biden administration! When Trump was elected I was equally disappointed.

People tend to voice the old adage “ Well I voted for the lesser of two evils.” Sadly that doesn’t work for me. Certainly Hillary is evil, but I wasn’t sold on Trump either, and voting for the lesser of the evils is still voting for evil.

In his first year, I still wasn’t terribly impressed, but as time went on I started seeing him sign policies that I agreed with. I still had problems with his grandiose statements on Twitter, and Facebook. His need to poke a stick into everyone’s eye who didn’t agree with him troubled me. Obviously his parents never taught him how to pick his battles, because he seemed to want to fight them all!

In his second through four year his accomplishments started to mount. He still wasn’t my pick for the Presidency, but his successes were mounting. At least I finally voted for him in 2020, and not because he was the lesser of two evils, it was a vote this time of confidence.

I look at the President the same way I look at doctors now. I pick my doctor based on his abilities as a doctor, I don’t pick a doctor solely on the idea “Do I like him?” I pick a doctor for the care he can give me not because of some misplaced popularity contest. The same goes for me in picking a President, I don’t view him as being my buddy or a friend but someone who can do the best possible job.

As we move forward after the inauguration, I haven’t been terribly impressed, it appears as though he has reversed many things that improved us under the Trump Administration.

Only 204 weeks to go!

Ocular Migraine

Ocular Migraine:

Al Ritter

About 4 years ago I got my first ocular migraine, and not knowing what it was kinda freaked me out. After a trip to the eye doctor he assured me that there was nothing wrong with my eyes and that it was a fairly common occurrence.

It’s nothing really like its name would lead you to believe. It’s not a migraine in the sense of having a headache, I have never had a headache with it.

As shown in my drawing it appears as a “C” to me, very small at first then widening as time progresses shown in the arrows. The zigzag lines are flashing lights of yellow, red, and blue. Eventually the “C” gets so large it disappears out of my line of vision and the ocular migraine is gone restoring me to full vision. In some people it presents itself differently in shape and size.

The eye doctor told me they don’t really know what causes it and there is no known treatment for it other than to just wait for it to pass…..normally about 20 mins or so. I haven’t had one in a few months, and I normally have one now about 3 to 4 times a year.

Just thought I’d give you all a heads up in case you have your first one and get freaked out by it.

The biggest threat to the national security of our country: Mark Zuckerberg

The biggest threat to the national security of our country: Mark Zuckerberg

Al Ritter

He came into our life in 2010 under the guise of offering you the opportunity of reuniting with old friends and also a way to share pictures of family etc. Little did we know of his dark intentions back then.

Things we didn’t really know about him:

In 2003 while in Harvard studying computer sciences and psychology he created two programs, one was called “Coursematch” which helped students pick classes based on what past students had taken. Later that same year he created a program called “Facematch” which allowed the students to make choices between two pictures based on who was “hotter.” Zuckerberg not only used those pictures without the permission of the students in the pictures, but never got permission from the University to use their network switch systems.

Harvard subsequently shut down his program, and Zuckerberg had to make a formal apology. Articles written in student paper claimed his actions were “totally improper.” The seed for improprieties had been planted, it would be the first time he violated the privacy of others but it wouldn’t be the last.

The following semester in early 2004 he began writing code for a new website entitled “Thefacebook.” Just six days after its launch, three Harvard seniors accused Zuckerberg of intentionally misleading them into helping to build a site called HarvardConnection.com. while in fact he was building a competing product. The three complained to the University newspaper The Harvard Crimson. The paper started an investigation.

Following the initial launch of the website the three seniors filed suit against Zuckerberg. The final settlement was for $20 million in cash and 1.2 million in Facebook shares. This was the first in many lost cases Zuckerberg would endure in the future due to lies, stealing ideas and privacy issues.

Another law suit appeared by Eduardo Saverin as being a co-founder of Facebook. A settlement was reached out of court and the terms of settlement are sealed. More theft of content by young Zuckerberg. Much better to settle out of court rather than have your theft made public.

Zuckerberg dropped out of Harvard in his sophomore year to complete his project. A few days after leaving Harvard he decided that Facebook wouldn’t be just a domestic product but a world-wide venture. After leaving Harvard he enlisted help to spread it to 8 more Universities.

Zuckerberg joined forces with Dustin Moskovitz in 2004 and moved to Palto Alto California where they met Peter Thiel, his first investor. A few companies offered to buy Facebook but he turned them all down, siting from an interview from 2007 he said….. "It's not because of the amount of money. For me and my colleagues, the most important thing is that we create an open information flow for people. Having media corporations owned by conglomerates is just not an attractive idea to me." This statement is very ironic in light of today’s situation.

In 2007 Facebook entered into a program called Beacon which was later discontinued in 2009 which user content was harvested on the outside and sold to Facebook. The service was discontinued due to a class action suit which resulted in termination from the project.

In 2008 the New York Times pointed out that there is no real way to delete an account, as some information will always be retained by FB such as private messages and posts to groups.

By 2010 Facebook had 500 million users and in Zuckerberg’s words had topped out on available advertising space per page. Later he would embark upon new projects to increase income to become the very conglomerate he so abhorred.

Zuckerberg in 2010 started “hackathons” every 6 to 8 weeks to see what ingenious projects his employees could come up with. One of Zuckerberg’s peers referred to him as a hacker at heart claiming Zuckerberg once told him “it’s ok to break things to make them better.”

It was reported that in 2010 that “Instant Personalization” was an inside pilot program of Facebooks’ allowing the selling of users data to Yelp, Pandora, and Microsoft Documents.

In 2011 Facebook integrates facial recognition into all user profiles. It claims to be 98% accurate compared to the FBI’s 85%. It’s still active today and there is no setting or preference to remove it. It’s active on ALL photos not just the ones you are in, so understand that any group picture you place on Facebook can violate the privacy rights of non-users!

In 2011 the Irish Protection Commissioner started an investigation after receiving 22 complaints by group “Europe-v-Facebook” in which they made access requests at Facebook Ireland of data per person and received back 1,200 pages of data that Facebook was holding on them in 57 categories. The group has claimed that FB has failed to supply them with additional categories of up to 84 data groups including facial recognition. After threats of banning FB from Ireland, FB gave in and changed policy there. As a side note “Facebook Ireland” was formed to AVOID TAXES IN America.

In 2012 Facebook purchased Instagram for $1 billion, based on an IOS or Android system it allows people a picture sharing outlet.

In 2012 Facebook shared its data with Cambridge Analytica through an app designed by Global Science Research to aid the Barack Obama Campaign. This marked the first time Big Tech appeared to endorse a candidate. There were no FaceBook “fact checkers” that refuted any claim by this campaign.

In 2013 he announced he was on track to register 5 billion users world-wide and was pushing for more worldwide access to the internet to increase his share hold.

In 2013 Facebook purchased a VPN Onavo based on IOS systems and used it to spy on other apps. Media outlets labeled it as spyware and by late 2018 had been discontinued.

In 2013 it was exposed by Edward Snowden that Facebook and Big Tech giant Alphabet Inc (aka Google) were suppliers of data mining to a military program called Prism. Along with personal information stored from Facebook and Google, Facebook also allows sharing facial recognition technologies (not only about FB members but anyone whose picture you post) to the NSA. This alone is the scariest part of Facebook and Google!

In 2013 he arrogantly stated in a post… “The world economy is going through a massive transition right now. The knowledge economy is the future. By bringing everyone online, we'll not only improve billions of lives, but we'll also improve our own as we benefit from the ideas and productivity they contribute to the world. Giving everyone the opportunity to connect is the foundation for enabling the knowledge economy. It is not the only thing we need to do, but it's a fundamental and necessary step.”

In late 2014 Zuckerberg tried to enter the market in China where Facebook is banned. Lu Wei the head of internet in China claimed that Facebook was a waste of time and refused to allow it. Facebook is banned in Iran, China, and Syria.

In 2014 Facebook bought Whatsapp for $19 billion and is supposed an encrypted messaging system, the problem is they have never supplied documentation concerning their encryption. In an anti-trust suit against Google, it was revealed in court that Whatsapp allowed access to Google to private messages stored at Facebook. Hardly encrypted then is it?

In 2016 Facebook instituted “Project Atlas” where they offered a market research program inviting teenagers 13 to age 35 to participate and let them use data mining on browsing history, web search, location history, and even personal messages. In turn the participants were offered $20 a month. This required the users to install a root certificate on their phone. As a result on January 30 2019 Apple temporarily revoked Facebook’s Enterprise Developer Program for one day virtually shutting down Facebook’s IOS connection systems. Apple stated that "Facebook has been using their membership to distribute a data-collecting app to consumers, which is a clear breach of their agreement with Apple" Shortly after Facebook discontinued the program.

In 2017 Zuckerberg filed eight “quiet title and partition” lawsuits against 100’s of Hawaiians on the Island of Kauai. Encompassing 700 acres Zuckerberg later dropped the case when he discovered that Hawaiian property ownership law is very different than the 49 other states.

In April 2018 he was required to testify before the Senate subcommittee on his abuse of privacy due to data sharing by the agreement between Cambridge Analytica and FaceBook. To this day Zuckerberg has refused to appear in front of a Parliamentary Committee in the UK to answer the same type of charges.

In December 2018 it emerged that FB had been supplying Microsoft, Amazon, Netflix, Yahoo, and Spotify, and up to 150 third parties access to user’s private messages, address books, and private posts without their knowledge.

Also in December of 2018 it was learned that when accessing Facebook from their app, your location will always be known by them even if your location setting on your device is turned off. Google has the very same access!

In 2019 it was revealed that the company had enlisted contractors to create and obtain transcripts of users.

In 2020 Zuckerberg was once again subpoenaed to appear before the senate commerce committee with other Big Tech giants to defend their censorship of individuals and their legal immunity according to section 230.

In January 2019 laid plans to integrate an end to end encrypted system to be used in both IOS and Android devices, and tied to Facebook and Instagram, and Whatsapp

In February 2019 it was learned that health apps owned by Facebook are shared with third party advertisers thus violating HIPPA restrictions.

In 2020 FB saw the first appearance of “Fact Checkers” initially they were third party contractors but later hires were done through FB. The ones that they share background info on are all liberal supporters, some are even Chinese Nationals that support the liberal cause for money.

Tax avoidance, FB uses a complicated system of shell organizations to avoid taxes through offshore accounts practically paying NO taxes here or abroad. For instance FB paid not one dime in 2012-2013 in the UK.

In conclusion:

Mark Zuckerberg is a very intelligent young man. Sadly the lessons he learned early in life have enabled him to use the morality of “The ends always justifies the means.” What strikes me is his arrogance and narcissistic nature of constantly challenging the law and thumbing his nose at the Senate. His constant development of apps that violate privacy issues is troubling to say the least. He pushes until someone tells him no then he abandons that app and begins a new one to find yet another way into the back door. People who embrace these ideas in my opinion have no right to be participating in ANY government programs! Income from Facebook has topped out for Zuckerberg, but his two largest income producers after Facebook are Whatsapp and Instagram in that order. If you want to send him a message I’d suggest removing one or all of them from your life, after all we did without them in 2004.

The way I see Big Tech is this…….they are all like a family….they fight like siblings among themselves, and even sue each other, but that’s like a chess game to them. When attacked together they act like one tight knit family and will fight you to the end!

Remember one thing……..if the service costs you nothing……YOU are the product!

The Tenth Amendment and What it means to Obamacare

The Tenth Amendment and What it means to Obamacare
Al Ritter

In much the same way that States power reigns supreme in regulations on firearms, Healthcare is regulated by the very same Amendment.

Amendment X (1791)

The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.

In other words things not mentioned in the Constitution follow under States jurisdiction.

As a result each state legislature mandates what things have to be covered by insurance companies to residents of their state. At last count 66 things have to be covered by insurance companies under Maryland law. People are mistakenly under the premise that buying insurance in another state will save them money somehow. For instance if Iowa had say had only 10 mandates required of insurance companies and Maryland had 66, whose insurance do you think would be cheaper?

We already “buy over state lines,” if you think about it, the main office for your insurance company is most likely in another state already. Sadly that means nothing, because that out of state company has to adhere to your state’s mandates to do business there.

The Affordable Care Act changed some basic premises about healthcare in America, first by a simple
Majority vote Congress has bypassed the tenth Amendment by removing State Sovereignty in the matter of healthcare. As part of the ACA, the federal government has also added their own mandates to your states mandates. Some of the mandates may overlap, some may not. One thing IS for certain though…..NO mandates have been removed!

As you can now see, buying health insurance over state lines would require even more intervention by the federal government. They would have to override every state’s individual mandate and come together with federal mandates to make every state come into compliance. If every state then had the same mandates chances of one state’s premiums being lower than another are less likely.

Unless the federal government changes MAJOR things regarding healthcare and reduces State’s Sovereignty even more nothing will change. As you can see, we are chasing Unicorns people!

The Casualties of Alcoholism

The Casualties of Alcoholism
Al Ritter

To the uninitiated meeting an alcoholic for the first time, you may be taken in by the outgoing fun nature, and you may even be in awe of their capacity to consume liquor with no visible outside effects. As time goes on and love enters into the picture the rationalizations begin. You figure if you are buying the alcohol you can regulate how much they drink, when in fact all you are doing is enabling the behavior. Because you are around them more, you are seeing more drunken episodes, but you tell yourself “because of our growing love, we can get through this.”
Through the ensuing years things don’t improve, you lovingly ask the alcoholic to enter into rehab programs or AA, and they agree. The program is over and they seem better, in fact they go back to the fully functioning life they had before. But as time creeps on they go back to “just one glass of wine before dinner.” They try to calm your fears telling you that they have cut way back and not to be concerned. A month goes by and now the alcoholic is up to 3 glasses of wine before and after dinner. Soon after, the drunkenness returns and the alcoholic is right back to the state they were before the rehab. Now abusive words are being spoken during the blackout episodes that the alcoholic doesn’t remember the next day but the damage has already been done. The loved ones are suffering but the alcoholic still promises that they will cut back the drinking. You stop buying the alcohol and tell them they can no longer drink around you. They rationalize their behavior by telling you that everyone is human and they all make mistakes and even question you by saying “are you perfect?”
The loved ones start to question themselves asking “am I asking too much of this relationship?” “Am I really this unflawed myself?” The relationship continues and within a few years you ask them to seek professional help again and they agree this time on an inpatient program. They progress fairly well and are released to an outpatient continuation program. The loved ones cautiously go about life again with the alcoholic once again. But they also notice that the word sobriety or sobriety date never creep into a conversation. Because of the alcoholic’s past and their secretive nature you become leery of broken promises. When things change and you view the person you love return to drinking the cycle begins again.
Once again you ask they seek help and they agree this time, but now you have the uneasy feeling they are only agreeing to appease you. Once again, no talk about sobriety or sobriety date as so many recovered alcoholics proudly know as well as their own birth date. The signs of alcoholism clearly show in their face and their health but mirrors either don’t work for alcoholics or the denial is so strong they can’t see it themselves.
They make up reasons that they don’t stop drinking…….”I can stop whenever I want”……”I can cut back”…..”you have problems too, and when you seek help for your problem I will stop drinking.” The excuses never stop and the loved ones begin to actually believe the root cause of the drinking is caused by their problems…..and they believe that for a while, but then they remember the ability of the alcoholic to consume massive quantities of liquor when they first met them, and that idea and the rationale falls apart.
Eventually everyone around an alcoholic becomes a casualty; love alone is not enough of a reason for the alcoholic to quit. The alcoholic is only looking for a reason TO drink, but never looking for a reason to quit. The trust has been broken, when is enough enough?

What Will Happen in January

What Will Happen in January
Al Ritter

This has certainly been a year full of political disappointments, and sadly we have all lost friends over their political stances both in Dem vs Rep contests but also Rep vs other Republicans. This weeks’ announcement by Ted Cruz to support the Republican nominee has brought about all new heated controversies. It seems the Republican Party has become so fractured now it’s hard to believe it will ever survive.
So you understand where I am coming from, I’ll tell you that I recently left the Republican Party for the sole reason that the RNC refused to renounce the practice of open primaries, allowing the Democratic Party to make the choice of the Republican nominee in the presidential election.
A lot of you will be angry at my views, but at this point in time, I really don’t care anymore, because my view is now that of an “unaffiliated party” voter.
I view the choice between the two present majority party choices as such. If the choice is between the lesser of two evils, I really don’t see a clear choice. Both candidates have taken advantage of the 2014 SCOTUS ruling of “Susan B. Anthony List vs Driehaus” where lying in political campaigns is now legal based on the 1st Amendment. They have both lied continually, and in fact both are unindicted felons in different frauds perpetrated on the American Public, and the DOJ refuses to act on either! We as citizens would already be serving time in prison had we done the things that either Trump of Clinton have done, but we keep allowing it to happen, and neither serves the time they deserve in Federal Prison.
As a result America will be the largest loser regardless of who wins this election.
Now this is how I view the results of the election based on who wins. If Trump wins; I see 100% aggressive behavior from the Democratic Party to ANY actions Mr Trump makes, and I hardly think this can be a statement that anyone can argue. Furthermore I can see an act of aggression of maybe 20% of the Republican Congress against Trump. You may disagree with this percentage but the fact is there WILL be some, call them RINO’s or whatever you wish. If Trump wins there will be NO primary challenge in the 2020 Presidential election unless Trump himself doesn’t want to run for another term, and to be honest I can’t ever see that happening. If Trump wins the SCOTUS is still a toss-up. Far smarter Republican Presidents have made poor choices in appointing conservatives to the court. But Trump has a history of supporting candidates that want to destroy the conservative cause so whether he appoints conservatives is NOT a given at this point. Trump says he wants to repeal Obamacare but only to the point of replacing it with a single payer system like Obama originally wanted. Trump has already abandoned his aggressive stance against illegal immigration and it’s only a matter of time before his claim to build a wall disappears too. There are so many stances that Trump had in his campaign that have already been either abandoned or reversed, everything he now considers to be mere “suggestions” with no clear policy standards and certainly no clear fiscal path to achieve those vague goals. His reluctance to ask for help on subjects he clearly knows nothing about have signaled to many Republican foreign policy experts that his questions on the use of nuclear weapons has alarmed many in his own party.
If Hillary wins; she will continue to lie and forward the same agenda her predecessor has done for the last 8 years. She will never be prosecuted for Benghazi nor will she be prosecuted for the Clinton Foundation money laundering or pay for play schemes. She will have the support of 100% of Democrats in Congress and about 20% or the same RINO’s that have supported every agenda that Obama has put forward in the last 8 years including Obamacare. Her Supreme Court appointments will most certainly be all liberal Justices. There is however a strong possibility that there could be health issues in a Hillary Clinton Presidency that could end her career prematurely. Although her political career has been plagued with falsehoods omissions and outright lies much in the way Trump’s has, her past history shows very few signs of mental instability but rather an insatiable quest for more power.
Both candidates show signs of being pathological lairs but Trump has clearly set the path of a 91% lying record, placing him at the top of the falsehood heap, so to pick either one with the idea that one isn’t as bad as the other is an asinine idea that will destroy America!
Congress; If Hillary wins I believe the seats in the Senate will become filled with more Democrats but I doubt they will take the majority, at least not until the next election cycle. The House will continue as the stronghold for Republicans. If Trump wins I see the senate staying in Republican control, but only temporarily as the public’s faith in the Republican President will quickly erode and the Senate will be lost in the next election. The public will place even further blame on the remaining Republican Senators and they will lose their seats to the left. The balance of legislative power will be in the hands of the President to either gain or lose power based solely on their performance. The public already knows what a Presidency under Clinton will be; it will be like a third term of Obama with only small changes. The public has NO idea what a Presidency under Trump would be like, his character is not consistent, his temperament is far from mature, and his policies and how to pay for them are totally devoid of logic or reason.
Some people are upset with Ted Cruz’s endorsement of Donald Trump, but they need to understand one thing. Ted Cruz wants to run for President again in the closest possible time frame.  Cruz has no choice other than to run as a Republican, he would flounder as a 3rd party candidate, and he can’t risk spending time building another party while running for President at the same time. Understand that he hasn’t given up his principles, but instead is being blackmailed by Reince Priebus. He is a victim of the RNC and Donald Trump, and his supporters shouldn’t feel betrayed by him, they should vent their anger at what the RNC has done to a conservative rather than to label him as a traitor. If you can’t see your way to continuing support of Ted Cruz the conservative idea WILL die in this election cycle never to return, there will be no torch bearer into the next election cycle.
In short, this Presidential term will be filled by either Trump or Clinton…………how long the misery continues will be up to the voter, but understand that under either candidate there is NO guarantee there will be ANY conservative policies either introduced or passed. You lost the ability to vote for a conservative in the primary when your party allowed Democrats to vote in that contest!

Why the Republican Party Deserves to Lose Everyone!

Why the Republican Party Deserves to Lose Everyone!
Al Ritter

In 2014 the Conservative movement reached its high spot in the Republican Party when their voice was heard to the point of increasing Republican representation in the House and replacing the Democratic majority in the Senate. It seemed that Conservatism had finally come into its own as the people had finally said “enough is enough” with the past movement towards left center.
The elections of 2014 did several things; it empowered the conservative Republican voters to finally think their vote DID matter and that when 2016 rolled around the party would move farther to the right. Sadly that wasn’t the story to be told though. The “leadership” of the Republican Party (and I use that term loosely) was happy with the business as usual and the Conservative upstarts had to be silenced. The Conservative power play worked only to a point as John Boehner was forced from his Speakers position in the House only to be replaced with Paul Ryan. Ryan who has only proved slightly better, has shown that he in fact is also part of the establishment and has an aim to downplay all the Conservative ideas he can.
He has also continued the establishment Republican stance of giving President Obama anything he wants. On the Senate side Mitch McConnell continues an uninterrupted establishment role of pushing Conservatism to the back of the bus, and giving President Obama’s agenda a front seat. Republican leaders of both the House and Senate have acquiesced power to Obama for fear of another government shutdown because of the administrations continual threatens to do so.
Because of the Republican establishment threats to push conservatism to the back of the bus, the revolt movement within the party (and also outside the party) has taken off. Open primaries where Democrats, and independents can pick the nominee in the Republican Party was allowed to continue in the RNC Rules Committee meeting this year. During that same meeting Reince Priebus along with Trump delegates continually shouted down any dissenters to force Trumps eventual nomination even though he has the lowest approval numbers of any Republican Nominee in recent times.
Sadly along with this nomination comes a newly acquired reputation of being racist, misogynist, and uneducated. I don’t wish to be known for any of those character flaws and I hope a majority of Republicans past and present feel the same way. IF Trump wins the general election there could be a backlash that will be felt for decades. If Trump were to hold true to his contentious nature (which he has shown no intent of halting), he will alienate the entire Republican base which is already showing a major exodus. The biggest loss in the House and the Senate will occur when the inevitable foreign and domestic policies fiascos occur from the Narcissistic nominee that accepts help from nobody and assumes that only his opinion is what matters. Not one successful person in this country can survive with no help.
It seems sad to me that the Republican Party has sought a direction that frankly has been farther left as was proven by the rules committee when they allowed the Democrats to continue to pick our nominee. People ask me when I left the party…...my answer was simple, I left when the party voted to allow  Democrats to pick our candidates. If you think for one minute that the decision to allow that horrible policy to continue is a minor problem, then it’s YOU who are part of that problem. Secondly the RNC voted to remove the vote from a large consensus (over 1200 delegates) to a small (under 200) group of Republican party rules makers.
My decision was made to leave the party LONG before Trump was even nominated! They have proven that they are now the party of EXCLUSION not inclusion! That’s right and Trump supporters think it was about the party’s hatred for Cruz or my dislike for Trump. That couldn’t be farther from the truth, it’s about letting problems continue, it’s about disenfranchising the Republican members and substituting the power of many for the power of a few. And I shouldn’t be the only one who feels that way………..in case nobody has noticed the Democratic Party has done the same thing …….are you noticing a pattern yet? “When you aren’t offered a seat at the table, you are then served on the menu.”

Requiem for a Heavyweight

Requiem for a Heavyweight
Al Ritter

I sit here a mere twelve hours after Senator Ted Cruz bowed out of the 2016 Presidential race, in total numbness. We started with 20 candidates all vying to be the President of the United States. Now we end the primary season with Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton as the final two.

There are a lot of firsts as this race ends. For the first time we have two of the most despised contestants in the history of our country squaring off for the final prize. We have two CONFIRMED liars in the last contest. We will have a woman for the first time as a candidate in the general election. Finally we have two Democrats for the first time in American History running for President.

I have a lot of respect for Ted Cruz, he has been a principled candidate who always spoke the truth regardless of whether it was what you wanted to hear or not. He had specific plans for every segment of our domestic and foreign policy. He stayed true to Texas voters and has done what he was hired to do. Sadly he didn’t fight back against the lies and smears by his fellow candidates in the Republican Party.

Presidential campaigns used to step on uncertain ground in the past about being honest for fear of liable law suits, but in 2014 the SCOTUS ruled in a unanimous decision, Susan B. Anthony List v. Driehaus that lying in political campaigns is legal based in the First Amendment and freedom of speech. So this has been the first time that lying has been declared legal in a Presidential Election.

Unfortunately or not depending on your view, Senator Cruz still believes in the truth and nothing but the truth, but Trump and Clinton, I am certain were VERY aware of the new SCOTUS ruling. This is where morals come into play, Cruz played by rules of God, while Clinton and Trump play by whatever rules it takes to win, honestly or not.

I’m done with politics for the next 4 years, because this next Presidency regardless of who wins will cause such degradation in America that even the uneducated voter that caused this problem will have had enough! Be forewarned though, I WILL remember the Trump voters that caused this problem and have ruined the next 4 years for my grandchildren, we aren’t buddies, we aren’t pals, we aren’t even friends anymore……enjoy your first female president!

POLITICAL FREEDOM OR SLAVERY, WHAT WILL IT BE?

POLITICAL FREEDOM OR SLAVERY, WHAT WILL IT BE?
William G Burmer

For many months now President Obama has been plotting to declare martial law, this according to several political commentators in the Internet.  One has to wonder if this is not becoming a reality when we see left wing ideologists' such as Move On.org,  Black Lives Matter and radicals such as Bill Ayers  popping up in the news lately.

They are bent on creating the impression that The Conservative Movement under the leadership of Donald Trump are the instigators for their  protests. Nothing could be further from the truth. Their very  existence lives within  the radical Left Wing of the Democratic Party, or as I refer to as "communist revolutionists or agitators." Hillary Clinton, and Bernie Sanders are at their head funded by the likes of George Soros.

This all becomes a form of life repeating itself from a historical prospective.  When President Lincoln was elected in January 1860 several of the southern  representative in the Congress walked out and by 27 March after taking office, several more southern states representative walked out leaving the southern States void of proper representation.  All of this because the South disliked Lincolns views on slavery.

So it is with the RINO Republican, and Left Wing demigods in the Democratic party. Donald Trump's views on the southern border security and  "radical Muslims" threat to our nations security are just as volatile in subject matter as was Lincolns political views on slavery.  If Trump should be elected the status quo would be severely interrupted.

Interestingly the actions of the southern Representatives created a situation for Lincoln requiring Martial law being imposed in order for him to run the country and the military. You can find this in Rule (A) codified in UNITED STATES CODE number 95. This meant that our country would be ruled by "Executive Orders."  Sound familiar?  President Obama would like nothing less for himself than to do this.  If his crowd of dissenters along with Bill Ayers can create enough havoc it might happen.

As a side note, not many citizens are aware that as a result of Lincolns actions after declaring Martial Law one of his Executive orders included the creation of the Bureau of Internal Revenue, or as referred to today as the IRS. This happened in July 1 of 1862. His Military officer for enforcing the collection of taxes to support the Civil War was given to a Man named Lafayette C. Baker. Commissioned to the rank of Colonel he was is noted to have instituted a reign of terror unparalleled  in history  upon the Northern and especially the Southern states after the war ended   See Law That Never was Vol: II, pp.188-189.  As we are all aware this organization has become more tyrannical in power and scope than the government itself.  It has been and is used by our elected officials to their advantage to breech all Constitutional Principle in America and enslave all of its citizens. Lincoln might have corrected this event given the chance to do so, however he was conveniently eliminated.

Think Obama is not capable of doing something similar?   Think, again! Donald Trump, and Senator Ted Cruz are a real threat to the power elite in Washington DC. They will do all they can to use these two good men as an excuse for any chaos created in order  to retain power and continue to enslave each one of us.  Liberty, Freedom be dammed.

Ethanol Mandate Lies

Ethanol Mandate Lies
Al Ritter

It’s never easy when you find that you’ve been lied to, but it’s that much more painful when the lie comes from someone you should have trusted. Such is the case in my home state of Maryland, but it isn’t much comfort to find out that we aren’t alone in our plight.

In 2007 the George Bush Administration pushed the ethanol mandate on us at first as a program of security, claiming it was in our best interest to decrease our dependency on foreign oil by mixing corn based ethanol with gasoline to achieve a government based goal.

We have basically two mixtures available in large scale in the United States. E10 is a 90% gasoline 10% ethanol mixture and E85 is 15% gasoline 85% ethanol. I have explained the detrimental effects of any ethanol blends in the past, but as you can imagine, the higher the ethanol content the worse the effects become. E85 can only be run in vehicles that are specifically manufactured to run such fuels commonly known as “Flex Fuel” vehicles.

When President Bush started this ethanol mandate it began as just for government owned vehicles but quickly expanded to a mandated program for all gasoline burning vehicles in the USA. By 2011 80% of America was burning some sort of ethanol blended fuel.

There are many problems associated with ethanol based fuels, but the largest is that ethanol attracts moisture (water in the air) in an unsealed fuel system such as lawn equipment and small engines that vent their gas tanks directly to the atmosphere. Water was never designed to be burned by internal combustion engines and even in small percentages can destroy engines.

I first noticed drivability problems in my cars and massive problems with my lawn equipment as far back as 6 years ago as it takes a little while for the detrimental effects to show. Last year I had to rebuild three carburetors on my small engines and I had to flush the gas tank in one of my cars.

The latest trend if continued is for the government to move to an E15 fuel even though multiple automobile manufacturers have already told the government if E15 comes to the market place it will void warranties. Undaunted the government is moving forward on this mandate regardless of what the manufacturers of internal combustion engines tell them.

Enough about the political end of this football…….let’s talk about the lies to us the consumer. I’ll talk about Maryland first. In 2005 the “Renewable Fuels Act” was signed into law by Gov. Robt. Ehrlich formed from State Senate bill 740. Like the federal bill it started as a mandate that government vehicles had to run blended fuels. Sadly it morphed into a program that offered monetary incentives to fuel suppliers to blend ethanol into gasoline. But here is where the lies began. I can’t find out when this changed or if it was from the beginning, but in Maryland and 14 other states it’s ok to lie to the consumer and NOT have to place E10 stickers on the gas pumps whose fuel contains ethanol. In other words it’s ok to tell you the fuel doesn’t have ethanol when in fact it does! Let that sink in a moment.

California, District of Columbia - DC,  Indiana - In,  Kansas - KS,  Kentucky -KY,

Maryland - MD,  Michigan - MI,  Minnesota - MN,  Missouri - MO,  Nevada - NV,

* New Hampshire - NH - New Jersey - NJ,   Ohio - OH.

This is a list of the states that can legally lie to you about the content of your fuel that you buy for your vehicle. Each state seems to have its own bizarre rules on fuel reporting, but the really distressing part of all this is, that unless we pressure our State Legislatures to force gas stations to be truthful about the content of their fuels, we could have E15 forced on us with NO notice!

I called and talked to a HUGE local fuel supplier with close to 100 gas stations in the Maryland Area and he confirmed what I had suspected. The legislature from the very beginning has NOT required them to mark gas pumps as to their content from day one in 2005, so this lie has been going on now in Maryland for 11 years! The gas stations on their own may choose to mark them or not, sadly making them just as complicit in this fraud perpetrated on the people of Maryland as our state legislature. Customers have for the last 11 years had been led to think they are buying ethanol free fuel when in fact they haven’t.

Go here to read more about the massive lies being perpetrated on us by our state governments. Send this article to your state lawmakers and ask WHY they have seen fit to allow the lies to continue (11 years in Maryland.) Maybe your state has been lying to you even longer.

Go here to find your state legislators and ask them why this is allowed
