Something Stinks In St. Louis

Something Stinks In St. Louis
Kevin Bryant

In July of 1980, Ronald Reagan polled behind Jimmy Carter. Many at that point thought Carter was shoe-in for reelection. Over the period of August – October, Reagan steam rolled him. Roll forward to July, 2012, in Missouri John Bruner and Sarah Steeleman were in a virtual tie for the republican nomination to challenge Claire MacCaskill for the United States senate. Each polling in the high 30’s to low 40’s with Congressman Todd Akin bringing up the rear somewhere around 12 – 15%. In three weeks time, Todd Akin goes from dead last and out of contention to soundly defeating both Steeleman and Bruner. Last time I checked, Todd Akin isn’t even close to being in the same league as Ronald Reagan.

Claire MacCaskill at the time was polling almost 10 point behind both Bruner and Steeleman and was in within the margin of error against Akin. Now Aunt Claire is ahead of and pulling away from Todd Akin. What I and so many others here in Missouri would like to know is what really happened in those three weeks leading up to that primary.

What we know: Todd Akin is a congressman from the St. Louis area but is almost a complete unknown in the rest of the state. Claire MacCaskill was able to defeat Jim Talent for her senate seat because of an extremely strong showing in the St. Louis area, where she received almost 80% of the vote. Jim Talent took the rest of the state. John Bruner and Sarah Steeleman split almost every section of the state except for St. Louis. Steeleman and Bruner finished with less than 3000 votes separating them but Todd Akin managed to defeat them both by almost 10,000 votes though he finished last in 80% of Missouri’s counties. Todd Akin was outspent outside of the St. Louis metro almost 40 to 1 by the combination of Bruner and Steeleman. Todd Akin literally had no money to spend outside of the St. Louis area.

What we all saw: The MacCaskill campaign shot multiple radio and TV ads opposing all three candidates though hardly any of those against Steeleman or Bruner ever made it on the air. In fact, 95% of her advertisement opposing Steeleman and Bruner was pulled from the Kansas City & Springfield areas by the third week of June, 7 weeks before the election and we got bombarded with “Don’t Vote Todd Akin” ads.

Questions:

1) How does someone who is virtually unknown outside of St. Louis manage to gain 25 percentage points in 21 days spending almost no money and making less than 5 appearances outside of St. Louis.?
2) How did Claire MacCaskill know to keep on running ads against Todd Akin and to stop running them against the two frontrunners?

Just two weeks ago (by the time you read this), Todd Akin, a very seasoned politician, goes on television and makes a speaking error of such enormous proportion that it would actually blow the minds of people if that size mistake was made by someone running for the position of local dogcatcher. No politician outside of Joe Biden is THAT dumb.

Todd Akin now has no money, very little in state support, no out of state support, no backing from the RNC, no vote of confidence from the Romney-Ryan campaign, two candidates who can both raise money and defeat MacCaskill waiting in the wings and he refuses to step down as the party’s candidate for the U.S. senate. Every republican power player in the state has requested he step aside. Only MacCaskill and state democrats still support him staying in and he won’t get out of the race.

Question:

3) You’re beat and you know you’re beat. Why stay in a race you know you can’t win and by staying, you prevent 2 others who are very capable of winning from actually defeating Claire MacCaskill and blocking the republicans from taking back the senate?

Is it just me or can you too smell the political stench coming from St. Louis?

Who Am I?

Who Am I?
Al Ritter
I am the city wrought with crime so much so that I am the second deadliest city in America surpassed only by Detroit for murders. I am the state where its people once called itself the “land of pleasant living.” I am the city where a major revitalization project drew people from around the country to its inner city but has now become an area for “roaming black gangs,” and has now made visitors targets for violent crime.
I am the state that has been controlled by Democrats for over 20 years now. I am the city where corrupt politicians are groomed through the city level. I am the city that breeds corruption through the city council first, graduates to Mayor, then to Governor, never once looking back at the problems they created. I am the city whose crime becomes increasingly worse and yet the past Mayors go on to increasingly higher offices.
I am the city where the immortal words were penned “the land of the free, and the home of the brave,” and yet ranked 43rd out of 50 states for an overall violation of personal freedom in a 2009 study. I am the state where people proudly announced themselves in the 50’s as being from the “free state.”
I am the state that has enacted numerous laws to “protect” it’s most famous tributary, but despite the laws and extra regulations has made very little headway in curbing pollution, but has taxed its inhabitants to a painful level to preserve its cleanliness.
I am the state that has the second largest tax increase from 2010 to 2012 and yet still can’t balance its budget. I am the state that because of its taxing policies has chased off 31,000 millionaire residents to neighboring states between 2007 and 2010.
I am a sanctuary state that supports, hides, and enables illegal aliens. I was the state that promised that illegal aliens would no longer be able to obtain driver’s licenses, but now they are once again getting licenses through the “back door.” I am the state where the legislature has given millions of dollars to a group that printed pamphlets on how to avoid ICE officials thus being deported. This never stopped the flow of money to this group, only slowed it for a short time.
I am the state that once viewed gambling as evil and a tax on the poor while Maryland had a Republican Governor, but quickly enacted a law that allowed slot machines, and is now on a fast track to include full scale gambling through the legislature.
I was once a state that viewed “fees” were taxes but now accepts them as fees rather than taxes, because their Democratic Governor said so.
I am the state whose two senators survive by earmarks and proudly extoll their use as benefiting the people of the state.
I am the state that is increasing its Democratic control through a blatant gerrymandering process that if successful will secure democratic control for decades to come. I am the state, the city, the rural areas that once held their heads proudly above the rest. Alas, that was a long time ago and many Mayors and Governors have passed into the annals of our history. My present Governor is presently being groomed to run for the Presidency, I hope you remember these facts in the future, your country will depend on it!
Who am I? Surely you have guessed by now…….I am the once Great State of Maryland, and once Great City of Baltimore……hard to believe isn’t it?.........sad to see the regressive nature of my state!

DeEnergizing The Base

DeEnergizing The Base
Kevin Bryant

What is going on with the Romney campaign? It appears to me that we are getting a repeat of the John McCain campaign. During the primaries the base was all fired up and record numbers of voters were turning out for primary contests.  But now……..

We have gone from one of the hardest hitting primaries to a softball general election. The Obama campaign is running almost completely unopposed on their record, their distortion of the truth and their Chicago style tactics. Sarah Palin said it best when she told reporters “The McCain campaign wouldn’t allow me to take the gloves off”.

Romney is looking and acting like a nice boy scout who is trying to help an elderly person across the street, not someone in a fight looking to win the white house. If the base wanted another softball campaign we could have gotten that from John Huntsman. We did get that from John McCain.

It’s time to take the gloves off, roll up the sleeves and get dirty. Romney doesn’t need to take the message to the streets of America, he needs to take the fight to the streets of America.

Dear Patriots

Dear Patriots:
William G. Burmer

Recently I received a reply from Barbara Boxer, Senator from California, to an editorial I sent to her and Feinstein some weeks ago. Oh yes, I send my editorials to my representatives. I believe we should all let them know how we feel, not just our friends and those who may disagree.

The reply was predictable, sanitized, polite without mention of any actually subject matter; I was thanked for my comments and assured they would play a role in her decision making process as she worked in the Senate.

I have, in the past, received several letters from my representatives of the same genre. I am sure each of you have also received similar letters if not the same. They begin by inserting your first name “Dear _____. (First Paragraph) Thank you for your recent letter, your comments are important to me BLAH BLAH BlAH. (Second Paragraph) Please visit my web site for some (BS). The (third Paragraph) More (BS) and finally the salutation can be interpreted to mean (Kiss off) your comments are trivial to me and I will enjoy my power and retirement at your personal expense.

I would that the following words of Davy Crockett rang sober within the hearts of more of today’s politicians.

Letter (28 January 1834), reported in A Narrative of the Life of David Crockett (1834), p. 113, final paragraph.

I am sorry to say I do doubt the honesty of many men that are called good at home, that have given themselves up to serve a party. I am no man's man. I bark at no man's bid. I will never come and go, and fetch and carry, at the whistle of the great man in the white house, no matter who he is. And if this petty, un-patriotic scuffling for men, and forgetting principles, goes on, it will be the overthrow of this one happy nation, and the blood and toil of our ancestors will have been expended in vain.

In a letter following his defeat in the 1830 elections, as quoted in David Crockett: The Man and the Legend (1994) by James Atkins Shackford, p. 133

I would rather be beaten and be a man than to be elected and be a little puppy dog. I have always supported measures and principles and not men. I have acted fearless and independent and I never will regret my course. I would rather be politically buried than to be hypocritically immortalized.

To all who serve party over principle I say: Woof Woof, Bow Wow.

In My Opinion

In My Opinion
Kevin Bryant
We all have opinions. Many of us voice them whether they are solicited or not. It’s just human nature to have them and quite often our opinions do not match those around us. Most everything I write here is opinion and sometimes you agree with me and sometimes you don’t. When I state an opinion I do try to clarify my position. Sometimes I succeed and sometimes I fall way short of the measure but at least you get some sense of how I arrived at it.
I’m going to touch on a few subjects today that are “taboo”. Why are they taboo? It’s because political correctness has gone too far in America to allow for free and open discussion on the subjects. As a nation we are so afraid of hurting someone’s feelings, we have almost forgotten how to be truthful with one another.
For far too long “political correctness” has turned people into victims. If you say welfare turns people into slaves of the government, people pretend to be offended by the use of the word slave. Liberal blacks even scold conservative blacks for using the term slave or slavery in the same context that I just did yet, and correct me if I am wrong, I believe it’s less than 15% of all blacks in America can trace their roots or their ancestry to slavery. Why is it an offensive word? It is because race baiting individuals like Emanuel Cleaver, James Clyburn, Sheila Jackson, Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton and a host of others are making money off blacks by portraying blacks as victims of society. According to all them, whites in America are inherently racist against blacks and even saying the word slavery no matter the context with which it is used is offensive. If anyone has a right to be sensitive to the word slavery, it’s Jews. Blacks were slaves for what, approximately a couple of hundred years, Jews were slaves for a couple of thousands of years yet they don’t complain about it. They don’t try to use it to gain something for nothing. They say white people in America are racist towards blacks. Sorry Jesse, Al and company, the world has been racist against the Jews almost since the dawn of man. When blacks in America reach the same level of racism the Jews have endured, then I will stand beside you and defend your stance. Until that day arrives, no way will I ever classify you as a victim. There is not one black in America that has does not have the opportunity to succeed in this country if they are willing to put forth the same effort it takes a white person of equal stature.
“The federal government should make gay marriage legal in the United States”. I hear that one a lot. Why should the federal government even have a say in the issue. Most gays believe that heterosexuals are prejudice against them. They have been conditioned to believe this by the Fred Phelps of the world. The institution of marriage has been around longer than the Bible and the Quran. Both state marriage is between a man and a woman. The only difference is the Bible does not teach that gays should be stoned to death. Most heterosexuals do not have a problem with civil unions or any other ceremony that unites same sex couples except when the term “marriage” is used. I personally do not have a problem with same sex couples but I, like many others do have a problem calling it a marriage. Marriage was instituted by God through his teachings. The Bible, which has certainly been around longer than any federal government of any country has defined marriage as the union between a man and a woman. It was the government who saw potential profit and made people get a license to get married. My opinion, call it anything you want, just don’t call it a marriage because it does not fit the historical or religious definition of the word and since the word originated within religion, I don’t believe the government has a right to trample it. If the people vote to allow it to be called a marriage in their state, then I will support the states decision, but to have just a state legislature or some judge sitting on a bench decides to make it a law, I will oppose it.
Why is it that roughly 95% of all “hate crimes” that are prosecuted committed by white people? If a white man shoots a black man it’s a hate crime. If a Hispanic shoots a white man it’s not a hate crime. If a black shoots a Hispanic, it’s not a hate crime. I believe if anyone shoots another in a manner other than self defense, it’s a hate crime. If one man beats up another it’s most likely a hate crime. Why is there even a race factor involved? Hate is hate and crime is crime. If Lady Justice is supposed to be blind, why are we making her open her eyes to see what color of skin the people involved are? Hate crime legislation is nothing more than affirmative action for court cases. It does nothing but promote racial differences and further divide us as a nation.
Then there is illegal immigration. The laws concerning illegal immigration in this country is quite clear. The final draft of the constitution states “We The People of the United States”. The constitution was established by and for the citizens of the United States. Nowhere in the constitution do you find the word Mexico. If you aren’t here legally, get out. Come back legally, become a productive member of society and I will welcome you to this country with open arms. My ancestors came here legally, they became citizens legally, they adapted to America and did not try to make America adapt to them and their beliefs. Those here illegally insult us as a nation, they insult those that died forming and defending this nation and they mock us as a nation. Those who like to proclaim America stole California, Arizona, Texas, New Mexico and parts of other states, here is my reply. Mexico started a war with the U.S., Mexico lost. In order for Mexico to continue to be a sovereign nation, they ceded territory instead of having the U.S. army come in and take everything from them. If you don’t like it, go back to Mexico, become El Presidente, declare war on the U.S. and take it all back. Until then, get out of my country and should you choose to come back, do it legally.
There is always going to be differences of opinions. There is always going to racism so long as people allow others to get rich off promoting differences and proclaiming someone a victim of injustice based on race or sexual orientation.
These are my opinions and I welcome yours.

Truth and Obama

Truth and Obama
William G Burmer
Mitt Romney recently asked Obama to apologize for statements made by his régime calling him a “felon” because of alleged cover-ups of off shore financial assets. Never mind the facts or the truth with these regards. The tacit approval of Obama with these accusations sinks below the dignity of his office, however---he doesn’t care. No communist, ego centric, blow hard ever cares about truth or what is morally right; not even the United Nations, which are filled with Obama’s’ closest friends and allies.
Obama, Pelosi, Reid and their minions, like Hitler, Chairman Mao, Hugo Chaivez, Stalin, Ho Chi Minh, and a long list of others are, or were, never interested in the concepts of integrity, truth, justice, fair play, selflessness or morality. Their only interest is their political power and the destruction of anyone or anything that might threaten their ideology.
World War II was the only War fought upon two continents, where there was a full all out, no holds successful exposure of Communist dictators in the world. Even up to the beginnings of the 20th century the Jewish people were hunting down those responsible for the holocaust, found in Venezuela and other parts of South America. After trial they either hung them or shot them in the head. It took two H-Bombs to bring a reluctant end to Japans treachery under Hirohito.
It did not end with World War II as we know, Korea, Viet Nam followed with a longer list of conflicts in the Middle East to date. One thing we should have learned with all of this bloodshed is that Evil exists in governments that choose to control or dominate its people. Religious faith deteriorates, Ignorance is perpetuated, fools and idiots thrive and good people suffer. The Father of America had it right when he counseled us with these words:
“Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports. In vain would that man claim the tribute of patriotism, who should labor to subvert these great pillars of human happiness, these firmest props of the duties of men and citizens. . . Let it simply be asked, where is the security for property, for reputation, for life, if the sense of religious obligation desert the oaths which are the instruments of investigation in courts of justice? And let us with caution indulge the supposition that morality can be maintained without religion. Whatever may be conceded to the influence of refined education . . . reason and experience both forbid us to expect that national morality can prevail in exclusion of religious principle.” George Washington’s “farewell Address”
I pray Mitt Romney can somehow influence Congress after his election to restore such virtues to our political system, our nation and our people; this is my hope, I pray it would be yours as well. I shudder to consider what it will be like if fuehrer Obama is re-elected.

Dear Patriots

Dear Patriots:
William G Burmer
Ever wonder how anyone, even a politician, can live with themselves telling lies, half truths, re-writing or manipulating history to suite their personal view of the World? It is done with such regularity, as we are aware; the lie is becoming the “New Truth.” My greatest concern is for our youth, our children, Grandchildren and Great Grand Children. I have secured a small library for them in my office beginning with Sacred Scripture, and have encouraged them to read from it at their leisure.
Certain People’s hearts appear to have become cold, unfeeling, and indifferent about Truth. Even one in my own family has declared that “your truth is not my truth,” Frankly such a declaration disgusts me to the very core. The blame remains squarely upon his parents and a deteriorating educational system of the last 40 years.
Simple logic should seem sufficient to declare that Truth is synonymous with accurate knowledge or a product of it. Without Knowledge, truth may not be found. This throws the burden of discovering truth upon the individual. Herein lies another important element in mans quest for truth, that is, Agency. With this element a man is free to search to study, read, criticize, analyze and debate. Agency allows the mind and intellect to indulge the idea that there is a power greater than self. Where mans Spirit and his God lifts his soul to a higher place of understanding and agreement. A place as declared by our Savior where “Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” John 8:32
The real value of truth comes from that of compelling us to give up untruths. This is one of the most difficult things for most people to achieve. A man will say almost anything, give reasons and excuse to infinity before he will declare “I was wrong, or I was in error.” Our Savior Jesus Christ declared . . . “If the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is the darkness.” We each have a need to humble ourselves, to change our minds, to demand the exit of an old truth long cherished for a new or greater truth so that we might progress further than we previously believed possible.
It is not easy for men to give up their vanities, to overcome their preconceived notions, and surrender themselves, heart and soul to the will of God. In as much as we know, to spite their individual and or collective human foibles, our founders created for us a Great Nation predicated upon Gods Laws. If we will but learn, line upon line, precept upon precept, truth, and walk in its light we shall be free from the errors of men and of their secret crafts. Thus, all mankind, especially our leaders might learn to walk above suspicion, above wrong of every description. Without question our Nation and its people will be approved of God and He will bless us, and He will cause us to prosper and flourish in this great land we love to call America.

Back to Basics

Back To Basics
Kevin Bryant

When a team isn’t hitting, or fielding or tackling or making free throws, what is the first thing the coach says? Usually it’s something about going back and practicing the basics of the game. Your child is having problems with algebra like I did, go back to the basics. It seems simple I theory but in reality sometimes it’s a royal pain to put into practice. We get so caught up in the way we put our own little spin on things that we just can’t seem to let them go, slow down and be willing to start over.

Have you ever had a new boss who comes in and the first thing they want to do is change the way things are done? Doesn’t matter if it’s the processes you use or the contractors and vendors you have always used. Sometimes it’s the brand of coffee in the break-room because he or she likes something different. Welcome to the United States Government

The government has gotten so far off the track of what it is and how it’s supposed to operate that those who grew up in the 40’s, 50’s and 60’s don’t even recognize it. The great equalizer of big oppressive government is supposed to be the supreme court, but as we have witnessed over the past couple of decades is even they have forgotten what their specific role in government is.

There is no magic reset button we can hit. There is no quick fix to right a stray government. It will take a generation to fix all that is wrong with government, and the only way to fix it is to return it back to the basics of what it was meant to be.

Lawyers make up almost all of congress and almost all the presidents we have had over the last century. Go back 200 years ago and who do you find in those positions of power? You have land owners, merchants, businessmen, farmers, ranchers ………..the actual job creators. Anyone who tells you government is not a business is only fooling themselves. The U.S. Government is the biggest business enterprise in the world. Lawyers don’t run business, they regulate business. Lawyers don’t work the land, they regulate its usage. Putting a lawyer in charge of the government is closely related to putting prisoners in charge of the prison.

Justice Roberts the other day described accurately how to get the government back to basics, you fire the people in place and you hire new ones. The federal government refuses to regulate itself. It refuses to abide by the laws it creates yet holds us accountable when we act just like them .…. the lawyers. Lawyers were meant to interpret and defend the law, not make the law. Vote every one of them out of office.

Resetting the government back to basics will take a minimum of 24 years. America needs to be united and committed if they want their country back from the lawyers who control it. Lawyers are referred to as snakes for a reason. This should not be a conservative or a liberal idea but an American idea. Who is better suited to teach your children, someone committed to teaching children because it is their passion or someone who does it but is committed to the teacher’s union? Who is better to take in money, account for the money and spend the money, accountants, business leaders and economist or lawyers? Who is better to decide the path of a business like the government, a CEO or a lawyer?

We all need to dedicate 2012 as the beginning of getting back to basics and taking our government back and the best way to start is taking it out of the hands of the lawyers who control it.

Groups Obama Does Not Like

Groups Obama Does Not Like
Kevin Bryant

There are not too many people in America that Obama likes. You never see him golf (100 rounds and counting) with anyone but his close knit circle members. Dick Cheney may have shot his friend but at least he has friends to hang out with.

Obama doesn’t like white middle class America. David Axelrod stated on the Sunday talk shows some time back that the Obama campaign was not going to try and go after white working class America. I wonder why? Since Obama has taken office, the value of my house has dropped roughly 23%. My gross household income has dropped 42% and my disposable income as dropped over 70%. All this and I am one of the lucky ones, I can still afford (barely) to make my house payments and all the bills that come with ownership.

Obama doesn’t like Hispanics. Not a single member of his inner circle is Hispanic? Not one member of his cabinet is Hispanic. Not one of his 30 something czars were Hispanic. Carter, Reagan, Bush 41 & 43 and Clinton all had Hispanics either in their inner circle or as members of their cabinet. He proved this when he signed his executive order granting what truly is amnesty to all those here illegally between the age of 18 & 30. He basically told those who are here illegally, “You people are suckers for going though the system”. If I were a legal immigrant I would be totally ticked off for rewarding those didn’t come here legally while I invested time, money and effort to do what was right.

Obama doesn’t like lower middle class and poor blacks. If he did, he wouldn’t allow those here illegally to take jobs away from you. Blacks have the highest unemployment rate of all and the gap has actually increased between blacks and whiles since Obama took office.

Obama absolutely hates Christians & Jews. This so called war on women is actually a war on Christianity. Obama calls himself a Christian but takes “Separation of Church & State” to mean “Total Separation of Christian Churches From State”. To hell with Catholics, to hell with Jews, to hell with Protestants, but according to Obama we must not offend the Muslims or the Islamic religion. It might cause bad relations between our nations. I thing, 9/11, burning of American flags and bibles, the killing of innocent Christians and a host of other terrorist attacks on non-Muslims already did that.

Obama HATES the Constitution. On multiple occasions before he took office, he has stated the constitution gets in the way of government. “Hey Obama, that’s what it is supposed to do”. Since taking office, he has circumvented it, ignored it, insulted it and dismissed it. The once self proclaimed constitutional scholar gets infuriated when anyone mentions that he, his ideology and the office he holds is not more powerful than the laws of this land of the constitution that this country is founded on.

The only things that put a sparkle in his eyes is power, money, power, socialism, power, communism, power, obedience from others, power, expanding the Muslim faith, power, marginalizing Christianity and the constitution and last but not least, power. Look at his eyes when he talks about the power of the office of president and his kids. His eyes don’t light up nearly as much when he talks about his kids.

Obamacare confirmed by Conservative Chief Justice

Obamacare confirmed by Conservative Chief Justice
Al Ritter

Chief Justice John Roberts is a turncoat? He had to know that Kagen should have recused her own vote but refused. Why did he turn his back on the majority of America and the very party that elected him?

I am shocked and dumbfounded as well as the majority of Americans who wanted this travesty repealed. What swayed the conservative Chief Justice to ignore the stick in the eye that Obama and his cronies have constantly poked in the last three years? Constant violations of the Constitution haven’t been enough for this jurist? Forget the fact that he is the lead Supreme Court Judge, wouldn’t he already know that Justice Kagen was the solicitor general and had argued the case FOR Obamacare on the Whitehouse side and SHOULD have recused herself in this matter.

He had to know that by not recusing herself the Obama Administration would already have a handicap in favor of the issue!

He voiced his concern about taking money from Medicare, but yet basically gave his ok………….really?......Why would he do such a thing? Basically it appears that either the liberals have gained another vote…..OR….his vote was for sale plain and simple!

We are sunk America! Unless Romney pledges to revoke this law in some way or shape the voters have now been denied what they want to the whims and wants of one Supreme Court justice and the senate.

Face it folks, unless we take the senate by a decisive margin, it makes NO difference what the Congress votes to repeal this heinous law it WILL stand! Our only saving grace would be Romney, but his pledge to repeal Obamacare will fall on deaf ears..not sure if he can repeal it by Executive Order or not….I KNOW he can’t veto it after the fact……it’s time for the law experts to step forward and tell us about the options! Judge Napolitano……….what say you?

Lacking any further explaintion I have to ask Chief Justice Robert............what IS the cost of a vote of a Supreme Court Chief Justice these days?

Slacker!

Slacker!
Al Ritter

Ok Ok, I’ll admit it, I’ve been a slacker! I have been occupied working on my house lately, and to be honest I’ve been pretty disgusted with what I’ve been reading about Obama and his band of criminals surrounding the Whitehouse. This whole stonewalling from the Whitehouse on the investigation of “Operation Fast and Furious” in which Holder has lied several times on whose watch this program was created is totally infuriating to me.

As of today he has refused to supply 70% of the subpoenaed materials. It would be one thing if it was true that Darrel Issa were on a witch hunt, but the facts remain that he IS the standing chairman and investigative head to monitor illegal and questionable actions of government. The death of a border agent is anything BUT a witch hunt! It’s past time (over a year) and the Terry family has no closure and even fewer answers about who or who’s responsible for their son’s death.

Holder basically begged Obama to invoke Executive Privilege to keep 70% of those documents hidden. Holder tried to craft a deal with Issa to provide him with information (spoken) but not the actual documents subpoenaed material with the return promise to drop the entire investigation! Issa declared there was a no deal and moved to level a Congressional Contempt charge vote as early as next week.

Even bipartisan members want answers, and they will surely get them at some point. If the Congress levels a vote of contempt of congress, the next move will be to have him criminally charged. Whether or not this gets that far, one can bet that not only is Holder’s position in question, his entire future livelihood be in question.

The $64,000 question is why did Obama step in and not only involve himself in this controversy, but invoke Executive Privilege when the information requested didn’t involve National Security issues? Democratic pundits seem to think that this won’t make a bit of difference in the November election. I disagree…..I think the closer we get to the election people will remember his most recent lies and cover-ups. If you add this HUGE misstep to all the past lies……………and if the Supreme Court shoots down Obamacare and upholds Arizona’s SB 1070, you will see a real game changer as some of his base will surely erode, and some of those “undecideds” vote to unseat him!

Soon I will be back in full force for November, but until then, keep your powder dry, and ready the pitchforks!

Dear Patriots

Dear Patriots:
Grant Burmer
Some years ago I was able to store an original copy, or text, of the Proclamation for the 1849 California Constitution.  At the time of its publication for ratification the official delegates were located in Monterey.  Brevet, Brigadier General Bennett Riley was then, Territorial Governor of California, with headquarter in San Jose.
The process of Ratification by the People of California took place in November 1849 and by the first week of December election returns started coming in. On January 2, 1850 General Riley resigned his commission and turned his responsibilities over to the newly elected Legislature.
Of interest are the following tidbits:
Article I.  Entitled, Delcaration of Rights
Section:  1. All men are by nature free and independent, and have certain inalienable rights, among which are those of enjoying and defending life and liberty, acquiring, possessing and protecting property: and pursuing and obtaining safety and happiness.
For those who may have forgotten, or did not know:  inalienable means “incapable of being alienated, surrendered or transferred, rights granted to us by God.  These rights indeed, have been made subject to the whims of the very government we have formed and ignorantly turned over to them. Dare I mention the Franchise Tax Board, Unions and other Power Brokers in the State Legislature?  On the Federal level the IRS.
Section: 2. All Political power is inherent in the people.  Government is instituted for the protection, security and benefit of the people; and they have the right to alter or reform the same, whenever the public good may require it.
May I add., NOT UNLESS WE HAVE THE COURAGE TO DEMAND IT! Ever wonder why tyrants in office want to take away your guns and God out of the institutions of Government?
I love this one, Sound Familiar?  Section:  21.  This enumeration of rights shall not be construed to impair or deny others retained by the people.
This is my favorite:   Rights of Suffrage
Article II Sec: 5. No idiot or insane person, or person convicted of any infamous crime, shall be entitled to the privileges of and elector.
Today, one wonders, whose in the majority in or about Sacramento?
Article IV.  Sec: 27.  No Lottery shall be authorized by the state nor shall the sale of lottery tickets be allowed.
Perhaps our leaders in Sacramento did not at the time realize the benefits of the lottery for the general fund?
Sec: 35.  The legislature of the State shall prohibit by law, any person or persons, association, company, or corporation, from exercising the privileges of banking, or creating paper to circulate as money.
Common sense must have flown out the window, do you think? I love the word shall, as in shall not, or shall prohibit. Pretty exclusive verbiage I would say!
And finally Article XI Sec: 3. Entitled “Miscellaneous Provisions”
Members of the legislature, and all officers executive and judicial, except such inferior officers as may be by law exempted, shall before they enter on the duties of the respective offices, take and subscribe the following oath or affirmation:  “I do solemnly swear (or affirm as the case may be.) that I will support the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of the State of California;  and that I will faithfully discharge the duties of the office of _____according to the best of my ability.  And no other oath, declaration, or test, shall be required as a qualification for any office or public trust.”
The only fault I find with this is that it is perhaps inappropriately titled as an afterthought.  Truly each provision quoted is unique on its’ own terms. Our elected leaders too often appear to treat their responsibilities with a blasé unconcern, send me my check at the end of the week attitude, lacking any character.      I mean by character, that which portrays moral excellence, one who is honest, trustful, loyal, and most of all selfless.
When California solicited to become the 31st State of the Union the men who formed it said this:  “the putting into operation of a government, which shall establish justice, ensure domestic tranquility, promote the general welfare and secure the blessing of civil religious and political liberty, should be an object of the deepest solicitude to every true-hearted citizen, and the consummation of this dearest wishes.  The price of liberty is eternal vigilance, and this it is not only the privilege but the duty of every voter, to vote his sentiments. No freeman of this land who values his birth-right, and would transmit unimpaired to his children, and inheritance so rich in glory and in honor, will refuse to give one day to the service of his country. Let every qualified voter go early to the polls___.  (Let) the world see by what majority of freemen, California, the bright star of the west, claims a place in the diadem of the glorious Republic, formed by the union of thirty-one sovereign States.”

Diadem=”A Royal Crown”

Oh that if it were true now.

46 + 46 = 8

46 + 46 = 8
Kevin Bryant

President Obama is going to receive 46% of the vote in the general election no matter what happens. Governor Romney is going to receive 46% of the vote so long has he doesn’t do anything stupid.

8% of the US population will decide who the next president will be and many have yet to make up their mind. It amazes me that the election will be decided by a relatively few people but it doesn’t surprise me at all. What amazes me is the reason why some of these people will vote the way they are going to. President Obama is going to have people voting for him because they want to continue getting their government handouts. Some will vote for him simply because he is black. Still others will vote for him because they don’t like George Bush (some people are so stupid they shouldn’t be allowed to vote). Yep, a guy on the radio the other day stated he was voting for Obama because he doesn’t want to see Bush back in office.  Romney will get votes for valid and stupid reasons as well.

No, I’m not surprised about the 8%. What does surprise me is how far apart the other 92% of the people are. This country has almost been ripped in half over the last 3 & ½ years. We have seen race warfare, class warfare, sexual orientation warfare, the war on women, the war on business, the war on the wealthy, war on the middle class, the war on taxes, the war on the TEA party, the war on what is and isn’t a real grass roots movement, the war on the constitution, the war on individual rights, the war to keep government out of our bedrooms…….and this list can keep going to fill this entire page.

What I fail to understand is why on earth do we keep sending people to Washington who either wage these idiotic wars or idly sit by and allow them to happen instead of standing up and say with conviction “We are here to represent the people and the people are sick and tired of all this”.

We the people of the United States formed this government. We the people elected those idiots in Washington (what the hell were we thinking) to represent us. I don’t believe in a democracy where the general population gets to decide everything. I do believe in a representative form of government but wake up because “we the people” aren’t being represented except by a small handful of the 535 members of congress who are supposed to represent us. We need to clean house from the top down. Reid, McConnell, Boehner, Pelosi, Clyburn and Cantor, yes indeed, get rid of all them. More importantly though clean out the white house from the top down.

You really want to know why the 8% doesn’t surprise me. I really had a hard time in 08 voting for McCain. The more I studied him, the less I liked. What my vote came down to was the fact that I thought McCain wouldn’t stomp all over the constitution with as much excitement as Obama. What I didn’t see coming was Obama not only stomping on it but then ripping it up and wiping his butt with it.

As I stated before, I am not a Romney fan but I will vote for him this time around. If in 3 years he has not impressed me, back into the 8% I go.

Who Are The Real Domestic Terrorists?

Who Are The Real Domestic Terrorists?
Kevin Bryant

While driving yesterday, I caught up to a late 70’s model Ford pickup doing about 55 in a 65 zone. I was about to pass them but I caught site of the Ron Paul sticker on the back glass, so I just rode behind him for a few seconds. While I was behind them, the thought of Sec. of Homeland Security, Janet Napolitano popped into my head. As I finally passed the couple on the pickup, I noticed they were likely in their mid to late 70’s.

Why would I think of Janet Napolitano? Well, I had an idea of the type of people in the pickup in front of me and reflecting back on her department’s statement that the most likely domestic terrorist are white, own guns and have Ron Paul bumper stickers on their vehicles. This couple didn't look like terrorist to me. They looked more like someone I would I would like to have living next door to me.

“I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies foreign and domestic”.

I have taken that oath multiple times in my life just as every retired or multiple hitch veteran has done. Problem is, who are the real Domestic Terrorist? Janet Napolitano and the majority of the Obama administration would like us to believe that the 70+ year old couple that I saw driving on U.S. Highway 50 on Sunday is a likely domestic terrorist and enemy of the United States. Which is more likely to have breached the limits of the constitution, the couple I saw driving or Janet Napolitano? Who is more likely to violate mine and your constitutional rights, the elder couple or Janet Napolitano? Who is trying to control our lives, the elderly couple or Janet Napolitano?

Janet Napolitano, Secretary of Homeland Security and another Obama yes person flunky. I am of the opinion there are more Domestic Terrorist on the federal government payroll in Washington DC, by either election or appointment, who mean to do us harm and strip this nation of the constitution than there are in all 50 states combined.

Here is one question the elderly couple would be the correct answer to……. Who would I trust more standing behind the barrel of a loaded rifle fighting FOR this country and what it supposed to stand for, the elderly couple or Janet Napolitano?

Dear Patriots:

Dear Patriots
William Grant Burmer

In light of the plethora of Executive orders by the President, the regulations of his czars, and the left wing communists in the Congress, it is left to us to remedy the dilemma they have forged upon “We The People.” We are not left without hope if we continue as we have with the “Tea Party Movement.” Its success largely lie with us individually and collectively to right these wrongs.
A little bit of history will help us see more clearly how we can overcome these Unconstitutional Mandates:
In 1828 President Jackson instituted what became known as the “tariff act of 1828” A Tax upon South Carolina on imports from Briton. Essentially forcing the South to pay higher taxes on goods they did not produce. And offhandedly made the British pay more for the cotton they purchased from the South.
In 1828 however the South issued what was known as the right to “Nullification.” In U.S. history this is based on the Tenth Amendment to the Constitution. It held that any state has a right to declare null and void any federal law that they deem unconstitutional, the federal government has no right to exercise powers not specifically assigned to it by the U.S. Constitution; as early as 1799 Kentucky and Virginia declared nullification to be the rightful remedy by the states for ALL UNAUTHORIZED acts done under the pretext of the Constitution. In this instance of 1828 which, favored the North over the South.
The Industries of the Northern New England states could not compete with the cheaper imports of the South precipitating the Tariff in the first place. Several remedies were sought after however all eventually, as we all know led to Civil War in 1864.
Our cause should be to support those in our legislatures to steadfastly demand that the federal government not exceed it constitutional authority. Be it “Obama Care, ” Executive orders, of Congressional Legislation, if it is not authorized Constitutionally, based upon delegated authority, we have a right and moral obligation to oppose and declare their actions Null and Void.
Nullification is commendable as a principal because its persistent practice engenders trust between the elected and the electorate and encourages reliable patterns of interaction between the citizen, the state and Local Authorities as well as the federal government; all creatures of “We The People.”
The concerned citizens of our Republic are no longer willing to defer to Congress, State Legislators, or other elected officials at any level to repeal Unconstitutional Laws and oppression upon our unalienable rights to pursue our own happiness. We have a right and a duty to unashamedly assume our right to derail the “long train of abuses and usurpations” and ‘provide new Guards for (our) future security” ---The States and most importantly ---themselves. Speak out America Let those we elect hear our voices!!! Let God hear from us in our pleas for his help in these worthy pursuits.

Open Letter to Barack Obama

Open Letter to Barack Obama
Al Ritter

Mr. President, I don’t care about time line of what happened inside Osama bin Laden’s complex, who went in first or on what floor our brave members of Seal Team Six attacked first. What really bothers me the most is how you continually claim your participation as “I did this, or I did that.” Let’s face it you gave the final go ahead and then you watched on TV like everyone else in the situation room. It wasn’t your bullet that ended his life it was a bullet from one of OUR brave SEALS.
Can’t we just agree to describe the actions that night as……”the SEALS won and we watched?”
What really gets my goat is the fact that you have used the attack that night as a reason to re-elect you? You have turned this into a political football that you somehow feel the need to keep spiking week after week! How about rather than claiming bin Laden’s death as “I got him” and to start claiming that “we got him,” it sure sounds less conceited.

Once Osama was killed, you just couldn't keep the news to yourself, you just HAD to report it! 90% of the intel the Seals retrieved became "old intel" the minute you reported it. You had over 200 intel experts working on the huge cache of information you got from Osama's compound, but the were hog tied for time because you were like a little child with a secret! Once it was announced that all the intel grabbed from the compound was now in YOUR grubby little hands, the terrorists abandoned every target, every safe house, every objective because you couldn't keep your damn mouth shut!
On another political football claim, “you gave women free contraceptive” and at the same time have alienated millions of Catholics in the process. Once again you assumed something that was not necessarily so. You were convinced that most Catholic women would support you over their religion. You assumed that because many Catholic women use contraceptives this legislation was a “slam dunk” for your side because your healthcare would pay for it. What you failed to take into account was that those women made that decision on their own and they needed no help from you either morally or financially. The result of your decision was to reduce freedom of religion to a mere footnote of history rather than the milestone of the constitution.
Your most recent attack on Catholics has not gone unnoticed. Your intentional intimidation by the State Department when you declared the Vatican as a potential money laundering group is beyond comprehension. This is a clear signal that you want the Catholics to stop fighting you and fall into line or else!
In your words, “I want to make it perfectly clear.” I am not a Catholic but I see your attack as transparent and self-serving. I am reminded of a quote from WWII that goes like this:

“In Germany they came first for the Communists,
and I didn't speak up
because I wasn't a Communist.

Then they came for the Jews,
and I didn't speak up
because I wasn't a Jew.

Then they came for the trade
unionists, and I didn't speak up
because I wasn't a trade unionist.

Then they came for the Catholics,
and I didn't speak up
because I was a Protestant.

Then they came for me,
and by that time
no one was left to speak up.

Reverend Martin Niemoller….1945

November is coming fast Mr. President and we remember the atrocities of WWII and the  egomaniac that prematurely ended so many innocent lives based on one group being “better” than another. We saw how quickly Adolph Hitler rose to power under the guise of class warfare.
You have once again assumed that we are stupid, somehow we won’t liken your behavior to a tyrant of the past……you have forgotten the axiom, “Fool me once shame on me.” We have been fooled once in 2008……There will be NO shame on us in November.
