DeSantis Tries to Help the Cruise Industry Get back to Work and This is How they Thank Him!
Al Ritter
Gov. Ron DeSantis in April sued the CDC for what he
termed were cruel and unusual restrictions on the Cruise Industry. CDC wanted
vaccine passports for customers to cruise on ships but not on planes. Recently
he not only won that case in Tampa but went one step farther by signing into
law a bill that said if ANY business requires a Covid Vaccination document to its
customers or employees to either do business or continue employment will be
fined $5000 per occurrence.
DeSantis is trying desperately to get Florida back to
normal after a devastating Federal Lockdown. He wanted the Cruise Industry to
be unencumbered by federal regulations and mandates. Norwegian Cruise Lines
however took a different stance and decided to counter sue The State of Florida
including its Head of the Health Department or Surgeon General of Florida.
The CDC unhappy with the Tampa Court decision is
appealing. August 15th is the first scheduled Cruise for Norwegian
after they have already stalled trips from the first available date in July.
